Nothing is sure to frighten a parent than finding out their baby is missing from home – especially in the middle of the night. Can you imagine if your son or daughter was nowhere to be found at home? This mother from Mississippi, U.S.A. knows exactly how this nightmare feels like, after her 2-year-old little boy vanished into the night.
Authorities began a search for the missing toddler, but they couldn’t find any leads. When authorities finally found a clue to the little boy’s whereabouts – they discovered he wasn’t alone.
Back in October of 2017, 21-year-old mother Chelsea Nobel woke up that evening. She was horrified when her son, 2-year-old William was not sleeping in bed. He was gone.
Worried and panicked, the mother immediately called the authorities and explained the situation. The police began their county-wide search for the missing toddler.

The authorities used every available resource they had, using ATV units and K-9 units. Not only that, but concerned neighbors, friends and other volunteers decided to pitch in and help with the search efforts.
Many searched in a forested area, hoping to find a clue to William’s whereabouts. The sheriff’s department even deployed their helicopters to find the boy. Despite the efforts of everyone in the search parties, no one could find the toddler.
Eventually the police discovered the first big break in their case – tiny footprints that look like they belonged to a little boy’s. They also discovered another pair of footprints beside the 2-year-old’s. They were tracks made by a dog.
As it turns out, the family’s dog Jezebel also went missing the night William vanished. The police were sure the two of them were traveling together.
Finally, they discovered where the young boy was after a 10-year-old boy named Blake Carroll heard the beeping of a truck one day. He saw a dog running around his uncle’s truck – while William was inside playing with the horn.
The authorities went over to the area and, soon enough, saw both William and Jezebel the dog. The search was finally over.
It was a tender moment when mother and son were reunited. Luckily, the only injuries William got during his unexpected trip were insect bites and some scratches. William may have autism – which is why he was unresponsive to the search parties shouting his name. Good thing his faithful dog kept by his side!
